Welcome to the Premier Forum for Women's Issues

Welcome to Women's Issues Worldwide, the online discussion forum for issues facing women of the world. Feel free to discuss any issues relating to health and welfare, business, employment opportunities, and education. This forum is designed to allow everyone's voice to be heard. Women have made many strides in the world thanks to historic figures like Harriet Tubman, Susan B. Anthony, and Florence Nightingale. However, our work is not done. Domestic violence, stress, and gender disparities in healthcare remain a part of the feminine experience in this century. It is naive to think that gender disparities only exist in developing countries. American women have the opportunity to explore careers that may not be available to women in Bolivia or Peru, but the feminine experience can be improved in developed and developing nations.

Consider these statistics:
According to an article published in Broadsheet-Salon.com on January 10, 2008, the United States ranks last in preventable deaths of 19 industrialized nations. If America had performed as well as France, 101,000 fewer people would have died, during the time period studied. According to this study performed by Journal Health Affairs, the majority of these preventable deaths were women.

America possesses state of the art healthcare, but is plagued with issues of access to healthcare. Approximately 47 million people in the United States are uninsured.

Contact us with any topic you feel needs further exploration and advocacy. Thank you for visiting this site. On behalf of the writers and advocates at Women's Issues Worldwide, we eagerly await your input.
