Women's Issues in 2012 - A New Series

We are set to release a new series of issues affecting women of all ages, races, creeds, and socio-economic groups. The main stream media, social media, and the beauty salon networks are discussing this weeks current events relating to gay marriage. President Barack Obama openly expressed his acceptance of gay marriage and the talk began. As researchers, we tend not to get emotionally attached to any new issue. We attempt to approach political issues with the scientific precision, of which we have been trained. Many of us agree with some of the choices our president has made. Realistically, it is difficult to agree with anyone on every issue. Spouses disagree and we often second-guess our own choices. President Obama made a monumental stance in implementing the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. A key issue with women has been the glass ceiling, disparities in payroll with men of equal or lesser achievement, and gender discrimination. We hope that you enjoy the new series, as we deliver the facts without editorial comments. Be positive, progressive, and self-propelling as your strive for excellence. Professor Danna Ntaka
